Let's Meet!
Sophia Takla is a performing artist and freelance multimedia journalist specializing in politics, local news, and service journalism. She is best known for serving as Miss Oregon 2022, and placing top ten at Miss America 2023. She is currently studying for her Master’s Degree in American Journalism at New York University. Her undergraduate degree is a BFA in Musical Theater from Boston Conservatory at Berklee with an emphasis in tap dance.

My Mission:
I aim to become an on-air reporter for a local tv news station. I am focused on revitalizing Portland after several difficult years of acquiring a negative reputation via national media portrayals. With a special interest in politics, I aim to unify my community through a moderate lens, despite the biased and polarizing content permeating the current social climate.
